Think about a project students at your high school could do to help the community. Why would it be a good project? Whom would it benefit? What would students be doing? If would recommend talking about a topic that you are passionate about. When writing persuasive essays, being passionate about the topic can help enhance your writing and make it more persuasive. This is due to taking advantage of the first person perspective that you will be writing in. I do recommend providing plenty of objective facts of why it would be beneficial though.

Some things off the top of my head:
Helping out homeless/sick/youth/elderly
-Feeding homeless, helping out at hospital, reading to youth, helping out at an elderly care home

Cleaning up the environment
-This can be done by more than just cleaning. Someone that I did freshman year of high school and several times after was that we helped out at a lo'i (essential a Hawaiian style farm)

More plants = less carbon dioxide and more oxygen
Better for the environment and cleaner air :)

Protecting wildlife is also another good one, and easy to get passionate about if you have pets or find something cute.
