?
try to draw a map of 2 places (let's say, school, library, a cafe, etc.) you visit during the day plot your home as (0,0) and try to estimate where the other locations would be (it doesn't have to be super accurate)
so just like this|dw:1516165897439:dw|
sorry not very neat
good, and now try to think about the first location you would visit after leaving home, and plot its location on the graph
good, now we just need to come up with one more location after that
awesome, now we divide the journey into 3 different times like the question asks
|dw:1516166316337:dw|
|dw:1516166321532:dw|
Okay so do i write this out separately or do it all on the graph
I would recommend doing calculations separately
OKay
for time 1, displacement and distance are?
Um 2?
good, distance is 2 miles, displacement is 2 miles north (distance is not a vector but displacement is, so displacement has a direction)
home is 0 and time 2 is 2?
for time 2, we travel 2 miles west so the total distance is 2 + 2 = 4 miles (we add the 2 from before) and the displacement is the distance from the home to the park (to save some time it is 2sqrt(2) miles
okay so for time 3 is it 0?
good, for time 3 the displacement is 0 but the distance is 2 + 2 + 2sqrt(2) (since we are adding all three side lengths)
Got it thank you
