The International Peace Awards are being held next month. This year's awards ceremony will be honoring nationalist leaders that helped bring change to their country and/or gain independence during the decolonization era in Asia and Africa. You are in charge of awarding a Peace Prize to one of these nationalist leaders and in charge of writing the presentation speech. Who will you pick? Why does this person deserve? How did he help bring about peach and/or change in his nation? What to do: Write a paragraph naming this person and explaining why you chose him to receive the peace prize. Make sure you are including specific events and reasons why this person should receive the prize. Use the information you learned in class and in your lessons. (FYI: In the Leaders for Independence activity in this lesson, you selected a nationalist leader to whom you would award a peace prize. You also explained why you chose this person. Pull from this activity.
