for an ordered pair (x,y) the first number is x and the second number is y for each point just plug in x and y to see if BOTH inequalities are still true ex. (0,0) means x = 0 and y = 0 y > –2x + 3 y < x – 2 becomes 0 > -2(0) + 3 0 < 0 - 2 since both inequalities are false, we have to keep going w/ the other three points
