Autumn:

What is worse depression or anxiety or are they the same thing?

tigerlover:

This is practically the same thing but anxiety is a little different then Depression. Depression is the feeling where you csnt feel anything. Anxiety is just worry too much about one specific thing.

tigerlover:

cant*

Autumn:

Okay thank you

tigerlover:

No problem! <3

Autumn:

:)

Shadow:

Symptoms of Anxiety: restlessness or feeling keyed up or on edge being easily fatigued difficulty concentrating or mind going blank irritability muscle tension sleep disturbance (difficulty falling or staying asleep, or restless, unsatisfying sleep) Symptoms of Depression: Persistent sad, anxious or "empty" mood Feelings of hopelessness, pessimism Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities, including sex Decreased energy, fatigue, feeling "slowed down" Difficulty concentrating, remembering, making decisions Insomnia, early-morning awakening, or oversleeping Low appetite and weight loss or overeating and weight gain Thoughts of death or suicide, suicide attempts Restlessness, irritability Persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as headaches, digestive disorders and pain for which no other cause can be diagnosed. ~These are from the ADAA (the Anxiety and Depression Association of America). I would briefly categorize as anxiety being more circumstantial based on what is in your environment (public speaking, girls, etc). Depression is more persistent, and usually has more constant variables (such as having cancer, loss of a friend, etc).

Shadow:

Most would say that depression is worse, but this is opinion based. Someone who experiences anxiety but not depression may find that to be worse (due to bias). In my opinion, depression is worse.

Autumn:

Thank you

Shadow:

Also, please do not self diagnose. See a doctor.

YoursTruly:

Oh my Gosh.

Autumn:

@YoursTruly what???

YoursTruly:

The whole thing Shadow posted seems PRETTY familiar.

Autumn:
