I would say symbol and what is symbolized. I'm not 100% though.
The first two don't make sense since you can't consider "light" and "blinding" as wholes or parts of each other. This analogy is not comparing degrees of intensity, so I wouldn't say D. Between C and E, it seems to me that you wouldn't consider the essential attribute of light to be "blinding." You can however use "light" to symbolize "blinding" as you often see in novels.
If we knew the definitions to some of these options, it would be easier, as they are somewhat obscure (first time I've come across them).
