Consider this claim: Headphones should be manufactured so that music volumes must remain at a safe level to protect listeners' hearing. Use the 5-step process to write a counterclaim. Complete the following sentence: The claim states that … Cross out "The claim states that." What remains is your clearly stated position. Complete the following sentence: Some may disagree because … Cross out "Some may disagree because." What remains is your purpose for writing. Combine these two thoughts; this is your claim and your counterclaim.

Elsa213:

Claim: `Headphones should be manufactured so that music volumes must remain at a safe level to protect listeners' hearing.`

AnimeGhoul8863:

so this is the answer elsa

Elsa213:

It might be better if you make the claim in your own words though. That's the CLAIM. Now we create a COUNTERCLAIM. Create a topic that can disagree with this claim.

Complete the following sentence: Some may disagree because … Cross out "Some may disagree because." What remains is your purpose for writing. Combine these two thoughts; this is your claim and your counterclaim.

Elsa213:

`The claim states that` and `Some may disagree` help you create the claim and counterclaim. It's just a help. Not really necessary.

Ultrilliam:

I disagree strongly with this essay topic, there should be warnings at the software level, it is up to the individual consumer if they want to go higher then that or not. It also varies in volume from system to system, amplifier to amplifier, so what "safe volume" is on one device, might be practically not even playing on another.

Elsa213:

Sh sh sh shhh, Ultrilliam. Woman, I just gave you the answers. /.\ Just copy erryting I said. `The counterclaim would be Why headphones SHOULDN'T be manufactured.` `The claim states that headphones should be manufactured.`

The claim states that headphones should be manufactured so that music volumes must remain at a safe level to protect listeners' hearing, I however disagree with this. I feel the individual consumer should be able to choose their own listening volume, and it should be on the software level a warning at most. Headphone volume can vary from computer to computer, and amplifier to amplifier. What a acceptable volume is on one system, might be not even playing on another. There is far too many variables to take into account then to accept this claim.

AnimeGhoul8863:

am i allowed to use that ultri

Ultrilliam:

Go right ahead, but you should probably at least change it a bit so it isn't blatant plagiarism against me ;P

AnimeGhoul8863:
