hardlyhuman:

Can someone please help me with geometry?

Aureo:

What's the question? I'd be glad to help. :)

hardlyhuman:

Thank you, I'll post it

hardlyhuman:

The options for the first blank are; SAS Similarity Postulate, AA Similarity Postulate and SSS Similarity Postulate. For the second blank the options are, congruent or proportional. And for the last one the options are; cd, cf or bc.

Aureo:

For the first blank, I believe SSS Similarity Postulate because since all sides are different lengths, but they are proportional. For the second blank, which one do you think is the right one (hint: think about the first blank)? And for the final blank, which do you think they are (hint: see how b = ce? If you cross out both a's from the first equation, what letters are you left with. You can do this because a is squared).

hardlyhuman:

2) proportional? 3) I dont know

Aureo:

For 2 you have it right.

Aureo:

For 3, look at this: http://prntscr.com/ifv4w8

Aureo:

When you cross out both a's on the equation you're left with what letters?

hardlyhuman:

ce

hardlyhuman:

or cb? im not sure. im terrible at math

hardlyhuman:

i think cb though for the answer

Aureo:

It's cf. Let me try to explain this more clearly, without distracting you by putting in the other equation. When you have \[\frac{ a }{ c } = \frac{ f }{ a }\] And you cross out both a's on the two fractions, you get cf as the remaining letters. Do you understand how that works?

hardlyhuman:

yeah now i do, thank you. could you help me with another problem?

Aureo:

Yeah!

Aureo:

Make a new question though please. :)

hardlyhuman:

Aureo:

This is a bit over my head, I suggest posting a new question.

hardlyhuman:

okay

Aureo:

Sorry bout that

hardlyhuman:

it's alright, thank you for your help
