Is this the question? There's nothing I can answer or help you answer in this, is there a question after this sentence in the book/worksheet/ect. that you're working on@skyliie ?

skyliie:

i typed the wrong question dang it

ElectricImpurity:

Ah

skyliie:

Lake Victoria is a large lake in Africa. The lake is home to a group of related fishes called cichlids. Many of these fish groups are similar in appearance, but they differ in their feeding habits. You want to determine if the cichlid groups are different species or just members of one large population containing a lot of variation. Design a plan for this experiment.

What you first posted seems to be the correct answer itself. Rather than doing DNA tests and ect, you could observe interbreeding between the fish to find out if they are all the same species. If they are the same species, they would breed, if not, they wouldn't. Is this a multiple choice, or a written answer? @skyliie
