I had a broken phone I haven't used it for 1-2 years. I think it does have the same phone number, but if it doesn't will all my contacts from my old number still be there?

Depends. The battery is likely dead. You'll have to check if it has a charge, and if not, if it can even receive a charge. If so, the contacts should be there.
