Culture is a determining factor in what individuals expect out of life. If your culture differs to the job environment that you're entering, thus moral and systematic values are different, you could end up being unsuccessful.

An example could be a practicing Muslim from Saudi Arabia coming to America to be a counselor at a Woman's Center (for assault victims and such). The culture there has different expectations for women than the culture here in America. Thus he may have an unsuccessful career.
