Help geography!!!
Is it the same question as last time?
shttp://prntscr.com/iiw4fu The question is "Locate South America and Western Europe on the map. Use these regions’ level of economic development to predict the type of agriculture that is practiced in each region." South America is in the bottom left and I'm guessing it's in transition so the agriculture that's going to be practiced is commercial farming? that's my guess.
its the same thing lol its just Part C its my final question.
Can you upload the image, my wifi doesn't allow image sharing sites atm (such as Lightshot).
If can't, then perhaps copy and paste?
try that ^
Works, nice
its a World Economic development map
All I see is a map though
thats all it gives me :P
Oh, blind, you already posted the question. haha
loL
Can you locate South America and Western Europe?
south America is on the bottom left
And is there some sort of graph/system that explains the different possible stages of economic development?
top right is western europe
no just the colors and what the colors mean
Would a country in transition practice commercial farming? (im guessing south america is in transition its hard to tell cause the colors look similar)
Well I would assume that less developed means they output materials. In transition means they output materials, but are working towards outputting products. Advanced economics would be the massive output of products.
what do you mean by out put materials
For example, shipping wood instead of a carved sculpture. Or shipping wheat instead of bread.
ok
They don't make the products, just the materials that make the products.
Like when developed countries would colonize other countries, they would harvest the materials and take it elsewhere to make products out of them. Or they would purchase the materials then do the same thing. The fact is that you make less money by just selling the materials. You can have high prices, thus higher profit margins when you sell an actual product. The best example of this is the building of computers. I don't know if you're a gamer, but it is cheaper to build your own computer than to purchase one. It's because you can buy the parts individually and build it yourself. You cut out labor costs (of the person/machine building it in a factory) and other factors as well.
OK
i play console lol
I'm guessing both SA and WE practice commercial farming because they want to be involved in the making of the food-processing, manufacturing, distributing, and retailing?
All countries participate in the gathering of materials. They wouldn't be able to survive off of that. Places like Hawaii, for example, must do this. Though due to the size of the population (large) in comparison to land mass, we rely on imports, since we can't sustain ourselves.
It's simply that the more developed the country, the more products they make with materials. This makes them more rich, and economically developed.
so what type of agriculture would SA and WE practice?
cash crops
Hmm, probably cash crops since they lack the infrastructure to produce products.
They need to make money somehow.
Oh
okay thanks
No problem
