@lolokrat Do you know how inequalities work?

Shadow:

Let me give you an example

Shadow:

Say we have the number -5. Then we have the following inequalities: \[-1 < x < 3\] \[-5 \le x < -3\] \[-4 < x + 3 < 2\] \[7 < x < 12\]

Shadow:

-5 doesn't work for the first one because -5 is less than -1. x must be greater than -1 or less than 3 to be a solution. -5 works for the second one because -5 is greater than or equal to -5, and less than -3. -5 also works for the third one, because whilst -5 is greater than -4, when you add 3 to -5 you get -2, therefore it is greater than -4 and less than 2. -5 doesn't work for the last one because -5 is less than 7 and x must be greater than 7.

Does this make sense to you?
