Help with economics

zarkam21:

Today you're going to think about the technologies that are part of your life. Pay attention to how these technologies shape your life, and consider what your life would be like without some of these technologies. Give particular attention to the ways that these technologies influence the economic decisions you make. Try to answer the following questions as you write. 1. What technologies are important to you? 2. Which ones are more important than others? What technologies could you not live without? 3. How do these technologies influence the way you live your life? 4. How do they affect your economic decisions?

Vocaloid:

Well this is partly an opinion/personal based question, most people would probably list things like cars/cellphones/home appliances/computers, etc. for #1

Vocaloid:

for #2 it's really up to you, try to think about the technologies you really do need to function in a civilized society (car + phone, medical technologies, etc.), and maybe think about ones you could give up (maybe minor things like fitness trackers, electronic tablets, game consoles, etc.)

Vocaloid:

I just realized I've only been talking about electronic technologies, but "technology" includes non-electronic devices like medicine, paper products, food/drink related technologies, etc.

zarkam21:

1. What technologies are important to you? Phone Laptop Kitchen Appliances (fridge, oven, stove) 2. Which ones are more important than others? What technologies could you not live without? I think more than a laptop, a phone is important. I also feel kitchen appliances are important especially a fridge for things like milk that will go bad. 3. How do these technologies influence the way you live your life? These influence the way I live my life because I feel as if we are dependent on these things. 4. How do they affect your economic decisions?

zarkam21:

This is what I put so far

Vocaloid:

not bad so far for #4 you could think about the positive/negative effects technology has on consumer decisions: positives: the internet can help you be more informed, make better purchasing/other economic decisions, some technology can help you manage money (like finance apps) negatives: with technology comes the urge to "upgrade" or always be buying new things, sometimes it can help make us lazier or more careless, relying on technology to make decisions for us

Vocaloid:

feel free to add any of your own thoughts/input

zarkam21:

Did that, thank you !!
