Studying/School Tips - Some of my own and feel free to share any of yours :)
I was originally answering this question: https://questioncove.com/study#/updates/5a941f624acda0b0cf44ac00 But then it got quite long as you can see. So I decided to create a new post, sharing some of my own studying/school tips in which I utilize some sites.
For writing, I would recommend the use of http://www.thesaurus.com/ Don't abuse it to add a plethora of unnecessarily long words into your paper. That can make it difficult to read. The aim is to make sure you aren't using the same word, repeatedly, to describe something. Saying "huge" 11 times in two paragraphs can make a paper seem less eloquent and interesting. It can go a long way, and I have used it for that very purpose for many years. Another good website for writing is: https://wordcounter.net/ Not only is it good because some essays/assignments have word limits, it will show you your word density (how often you use certain words, huge for example). It can help you know if you should use a thesaurus. It also has other interesting features such as showing the reading level of what you have written, as well as how long it would take to write/read it, on average. There are other options which you can choose to view. For studying purposes, non lyrical music can help keep you focused and away from any distractions. It's best to use music without lyrics, as when your brain hears the words, it processes them in the language parts of your brain. Doing this whilst reading/trying to analyze can stress your brain, thus you lose focus. I usually listen to non lyrical music, along with this in the background: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBOSExYWgLw&t=2876s It's a type of music that helps you focus. You can lower the volume in the video to make it more subtle. Some mixes I often listen to it with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0svuurLibQ&t=663s - More relaxing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZxhlnHl9rE&t=2906s - More upbeat (good if you need to stay awake) For math: https://www.wolframalpha.com/ I use it to check my work all the time. You can solve algebra, graph equations and parabolas, as well as trigonometric functions. It can help you in all levels of math. It also has a problem generator: https://www.wolframalpha.com/problem-generator/ Good for testing your knowledge in various mathematical areas, and prepping for exams (including ACT/SAT). It helps you along the way with hints, if needed, and even if you don't get the answer it will show you.
Mmmm, I'd use SymboLab rather than Wolfram tbh, I actually started using Wolfram first, but SymboLab includes steps for free, which is something you have to pay for if you want them with Wolfram.
Mhm, I'll check it out :)
Oh, another thing I use constantly is https://www.desmos.com/calculator Specifically for graphing, it's an amazing tool.
Agreed, that's a good one!
so is mathway
Very nice tips ^~^
Congratulations on 80, Shadow.
Thanks Shadow. These really help! Yeah my post probably would have been hard to type on xD

quizlet/answers
laminate your notes so your tears will roll off but in all seriousness I have a few suggestions, I personally recommend taking notes by hand during lectures/reading your textbook, then going over them again and typing them up in a neat, concise document Would also recommend self-blocking social media/gaming websites during study time
Was saving my medal for you
*blushes* I have an academic blog for study inspiration/study tips so I think about this sort of thing a lot
My personal favorite type of music would be something more like Seether, Slipknot, stuff like that. I do know a great EDM (electronic dance music, rather known as dubstep) playlist that is 7 hours long if anyone is interested.
skip class
skip class and get A's

Symbolab is good for computation but it can't help you solve application-based word problems.
