PLS HELP!!! Make a box-and-whisker plot for the data. What is the upper quartile value? 56, 32, 48, 52, 51, 53, 48, 38, 35, 42, 40, 46, 54, 50

Can you list the numbers in order for me?
@eviant
32, 35, 38, 40, 42, 46, 48, 48, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 56
Great! Now we have a sense of the number line we would have. Ranging from 30 to 60. We will go by 2's. (That is if you are not provided one)|dw:1520362184350:dw| We now need to determine the median (this is the number that is located in the middle). Do you know what the median is?
48?
Correct. Now the median is determined. We would mark the median on the plot. |dw:1520362767014:dw| We now have two sets on either side of the median. `32, 35, 38, 40, 42, 46, 48 = lower set` and `48, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 56 = upper set` We now need to determine the median of both sets. These would represent Q1 and Q3/lower and upper quartiles. Can you find the median of both?
35 of the lower set, and 50 for the upper set? sorry, I'm probably wrong
Totally fine if you make mistakes, that's why we're here ;) It is wrong but that's fine. Remember that median is the middle number so we cross out from each side to determine the median. Lower Set: |dw:1520363136380:dw| Upper Set: |dw:1520363218204:dw| So we have `Q1 = 40` and `Q2 = 52`. Do you understand how I found them?
We would dot these points in the box-plot as well. |dw:1520363321651:dw|
so, 52 would be the answer, right?
Yes.
thanks so much!
No problem ;)
