Dude it is D. If you give it away, it isn't yours to guard, however you can still use it with permission from the owner. Same for C, if it isn't yours, you can't say who can and can't use it.

Lol. That sounds confusing, let me explain it better. The answer is D, you can defend it if you are allied with the new owner, however, you can't control who uses it, use it in general (unless you have permission). B is kind of ignorant.
