Our world, our home,
Has turned us afeared,
The government corrupt,
Tranquility, disappeared,
All about the fame and fortune,
Humility and honesty, now so foreign,
For compassion and empathy, less and less,
Warmth and affinity, in recess,
Misery and despair, steadily rising,
Envy and hatred, demoralizing,
How do we fix, a heart so dark?
Defeat darkness with light, ignite a spark,
For darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that,
And hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that,
So it starts within us, to take control,
To repair humanity, as a whole,
Going step by step, up the stairs,
Fighting back, all those tears,
Fighting back, the sadness and grief,
Filling others, with a spirit of belief,
For these steps are vital, holding the key,
To the very future of you and me.

Love, magical, mystical indeed,
Forcing even the strongest, to eventually concede,
For love, unlike others, is of a different breed,
Happiness, sadness, envy or greed,
None cause a feeling, quite so strange,
Everything occurring, a great exchange,
These feelings these moods, hard to change,
Dangerous for all, like a firing range,
To control such a thing, difficulty high,
Easier to secede, to sit and cry,
To weep and weep, say your good bye,
But for the lucky few, who could demystify,
Such an ambivalent feeling, covered in shadow,
Great rewards await, at the end of its rainbow,
Shining bright, full of gleam and glow,
But fragile as can be, a domino,
This happy feeling, so easily shattered,
Girls oh girls, so easily flattered,
When truth brought upon, away they scattered,
Never focusing on, what actually mattered,
The boy that cares, the one that loves,
Unconditionally caring, like a flock of doves,
She covers her eyes, and away she shoves,
The boy that cares, the boy that loves,
Through the days, the months and the many years,
The beers, the peers, the thousand cheers,
The girl, her mind, it finally clears,
Realizing the truth, her eyes fill with tears,
Her hands reach out to what used to be there,
But all she felt, was simply air,
Crying out, in despair,
Closing her eyes, saying a prayer,
Forever wishing, to rewind time,
To rewind the clock, back to their prime,
Back to the bottom, the start of the climb,
To love the boy, that had given her time,
Given her passion, dedication and zeal,
Comforting her, when things were less than ideal,
Ever wishing for her to have the same feel,
Love, his weakness, his achilles’ heel.

Live your life with simple things in mind,
To love, to believe, and to be kind,
All of these, forever entwined,
We start with love, the first of the three,
Important to spread, to everybody,
Showing compassion, to the highest degree,
No matter a human, animal, or tree,
For they are all deserving, in the eyes of me,
In the eyes of you, I hope to agree,
For without love, belief ceases to be,
No love would mean no fire within,
No fire would mean a spirit so weak,
A spirit unable to ever break free,
Forever stuck, in a cage so deep,
Never able to find the golden key,
But with love this fire burns so bright,
Enabling the spirit to reach its height,
Forever moving forward, with no fright,
Leaving failure, out of sight,
Leaving doubt, hate, and spite,
Moving towards the shining light,
The light of success, the light to unite,
The human race, to a time of kindness and right,
Leaving the wrong, in the black and white,
The past, the dark, in the pale moonlight,
Truly believing in what is right,
Believing in kindness, altruism and more,
Benevolence, compassion, to name you four,
Straying away, from the spoils of war,
And more towards the things you adore,
With kindness, love, and belief in store,
A great question arrives at our door,
A question that will warm you to your core,
Is there any more to really ask for?
