Google defines them as the following: Comet - an icy small Solar System body that, when passing close to the Sun, warms and begins to release gases, a process called outgassing. This produces a visible atmosphere or coma, and sometimes also a tail. Meteoroid - a small rocky or metallic body in outer space. Meteoroids are significantly smaller than asteroids and range in size from small grains to one-meter-wide objects. Asteroid - Asteroids are minor planets, especially those of the inner Solar System. The larger ones have also been called planetoids. Note the use of 'small' in the definitions of both "Comet" and "Meteoroid." Then an asteroid is defined as a 'minor planet,' with some of the larger ones being called 'planetoids.' I don't know about you but I think planets are kind of large :P
