TheSmartOne:

What do you think the relationship is between rabbits and plants? Do rabbits eat plants or do plants eat rabbits?

22west:

Rabbits eat the plants and the plants grow?

TheSmartOne:

If you eat something does it grow?

22west:

No

22west:

When you eat it it comes out of the ground, off a tree, or off a vine. It can't grow without the protein in the ground, the tree, or the vine.

TheSmartOne:

Yes, and then it takes time for the plants to regrow. So do you have an idea of what the answer is?

22west:

Rabbits were endangered?

TheSmartOne:

That means there are very few rabbits. If we have a thousand plants, and a few rabbits, do you think that 5 rabbits could eat all those plants and make the plant go extinct?

22west:

Oh overpopulated?

TheSmartOne:

Exactly! If there are too many rabbits, then they will eat all the plants. And when they regrow and a bit starts to form, they eat it again and they slowly make the plants go extinct. And then when there's few plants leaves, then a major source of food for the rabbits is taken away so their population will decrease.
