Shadow:

How do you think we would approach this?

hardlyhuman:

Try to solve the equation things first?

Shadow:

The expressions?

hardlyhuman:

yeah those things lol

Shadow:

In order to solve expressions, we need to put them in an equation. What equation have we been using for the past couple problems?

hardlyhuman:

hold on, sorry be right back

Shadow:

</3

hardlyhuman:

IM BACK!!! Did ya miss me? lol

Shadow:

Lol Time w's madeth slow by thy absenc'

Shadow:

Sorry we're discussing Archaic English in chat. Where did we leave off?

hardlyhuman:

don't apologize, I love the old english way of speaking. it makes words more meaningful in my opinion ^.^

hardlyhuman:

and we left off on how to solve the expressions

Shadow:

Haha agreed. Lets speed through this question real quick, would be curious to hear your thoughts in chat. \[Angle = \frac{ 1 }{ 2} Arc\] \[Angle = 4x - 3.5\] \[Arc = 4x + 17\] \[4x - 3.5 = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }( 4x + 17)\] \[2(4x - 3.5 = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }(4x + 17))\] \[8x - 7 = 4x + 18\] \[4x = 25\] \[x = \frac{ 25 }{ 4 }\]

hardlyhuman:

Okay ^.^

Shadow:

Where do you think you go from there?

Shadow:

Hold on I can't do math

Shadow:

\[4x - 7 = 17\] \[4x = 24\] \[x = 6\]

hardlyhuman:

lol

Shadow:

I blame the 8 okay

Shadow:

Anywho, what do you think we do now?

hardlyhuman:

lol okay XD and set up the equation? maybe?

Shadow:

I did that .-.

Shadow:

The equation we were to use was the formula for inscribed angles.

Shadow:

I used it. Input the expressions which represented the Angle and Arc, then solved for x

hardlyhuman:

Yeah that's what I meant XD and okayz

Shadow:

So what do you think we do now :)

Shadow:

@hardlyhuman

hardlyhuman:

I'm still here

Shadow:

Yeah, what do you think we do now .-.

hardlyhuman:

I keep making myself look stupid -_- I'm lost again..

Shadow:

It's okay. You didn't give up like Gabriel :)

Shadow:

What are we trying to solve for?

hardlyhuman:

x

Shadow:

Check again .-.

hardlyhuman:

I don't know.. as you've worked out by now, I'm horrible at math. I don't know whats going on half the time. Aand right now is one of those times..

Shadow:

It's okay, I'm here to help

hardlyhuman:

would it be AC?

Shadow:

The questions is asking for the measure of arc AC. We were given the expressions which represent the measures of the angle, and the arc. We inputted them into the formula for inscribed angles, and solved for x, which is 6. Now we just have expressions....with x in them .-.

hardlyhuman:

okay

Shadow:

And one of those expressions with x represent the measure of arc AC .-.

hardlyhuman:

so input 6 for x and solve?

Shadow:

mhm

hardlyhuman:

41?

Shadow:

Correct

hardlyhuman:

Why did it take me so long to work that out -_-

Shadow:

Well, sometimes you get lost in the math and forget what you're actually solving for.

hardlyhuman:

Yeah I guess so, would you be willing to help me with one more? If I haven't pushed it too much XD

Shadow:

Sure :)

hardlyhuman:

Thank you
