Who is more powerful, a Queen, or a Empress?

An empire is broader in size/spectrum so I would hazard to say Empress is the more powerful, although since we are comparing two positions held by women it would also depend on how the power is split between the queen/king and emperor/empress

A queen would rule over a kingdom, and an empress would rule over an empire.

Let's look at the definition of a kingdom and empire as defined via Google

Kingdom - a country, state, or territory ruled by a king or queen.

Empire - an extensive group of states or countries under a single supreme authority, formerly especially an emperor or empress.

Whilst a kingdom consists of a singular country, an empire consists of multiple countries. So an empress would have power over a larger swath of land than a queen. This is best visualized when you compare to medieval and modern kingdoms to entities such as the Roman, British, and Byzantine Empires.

So what's so important about owning more land? Well, more land means more people (subjects) which equates to more individuals to tax, as well as more individuals to create products/grow produce. Additionally, an empress would have access to more soldiers, more buffer states to protect the center of power, and more resources.

I would definitely say Empress. A Queen is just a ruler of a specified state or land, whilst an Empress is the ruler of an Empire, presumably lands that they conquered. However, it is asking which has more power, and I suppose it really depends, because in both situations, their husbands/Kings and Emperors have the most power.
