According to Sigmund Freud, what is the role of the ego? A. To ensure that a person is able to obtain all of his or her wants B. To be the balancing force between personal wants and societal needs C. To control how people observe and imitate others D. To maintain a sense of pride in one's surroundings
What do you think the answer is?
Bye shadow.
Cheese Cake (:
I think it would be D.
Sigmund Freud had a structural model for the psyche. Id - primitive basic instinct (sexual/aggressive) Ego - realistic (mediator between the two extremes of sorts Superego - moral conscience (more moral decisions that deviate from basic instinct).
In my opinion, the answer would be B. The answer A is not true because that is an Id. Ego's job was to go between the Id and superego.
Id was the one that wanted the needs, and SuperEgo was the one that wanted societal needs. Ego's job was to sort of compromise those two things
Okay. Thanks. I have 4 more.
