"The ratio of corresponding dimensions of two similar solids is 3/4. The surface area of the first solid is..." Would you interpret the first solid as being bigger than the second or smaller? Because you would end up with two different answers depending on which... @Shadow @Vocaloid

Smaller, I would take it respectively. The ratio has to be object1:object2 Therefore they would mention the first solid first in the ratio and then the second. It's only logical to do it that way.
