(01.05) Which of the following is the most appropriate unit to describe the rate at which data is transferred using the internet? (1 point) Megabits per second, because the independent quantity is time in seconds and dependent quantity is amount of data in megabits Seconds per megabit, because the independent quantity is time in seconds and dependent quantity is amount of data in megabits Seconds per megabit, because the iIndependent quantity is amount of data in megabits and dependent quantity is time in seconds Megabits per second, because the independent quantity is amount of data in megabits and dependent quantity is time in seconds
@Shadow not hard, but I just need to know which way would be the correct way. I know dependents and independents already.
Typically you see mb/s
That's what I would go with.
" Megabits per second, because the independent quantity is amount of data in megabits and dependent quantity is time in seconds" I think this is correct. Am I right?
Well data usually has a set amount, like a file for example. Time fluctuates depending on how capable the network/machine is. So time could be the dependent, and mb being the independent.
Same mb would be transferred on different systems, but over different time periods, based on their speeds.
This is more so math, not computer science though. They don't expect me to counter in those circumstances.
How else would you determine this then, if not that one variable fluctuates depending on the other, whilst that other variable remains static?
Well, one has to be the independent variable. Which one relies on the other the most?
Thats what I dont understand
Well how would you define independent/dependent?
Dependent relies on the independent variable
Well, I guess technically mb fluctuates. Since it's always over one second, it's a matter of how much data is transferred within that second. What do you think of that approach, versus the earlier one?
So time is the indepent?
independent*
Yeah I like this approach a lot better. Megabits is plural with 'per second' being singular.
Okay, finished the practice. Got a "B" Thanks for helping XD
No problem
