PLEASE HELP! The balance in two separate bank accounts grows each month at different rates. The growth rates for both accounts are represented by the functions f(x) = 2x and g(x) = 4x + 12. In what month is the f(x) balance greater than the g(x) balance? Month 6 Month 5 Month 4 Month 3
@TheSmartOne @mikewwe13 could one of you help? please?
Never - the gradient and y intercept of g() are higher than of f(), and it would therefore have to be a theoretical negative time in order for f() to have a higher value than g(), which would not be possible in this case. First, solve at which month does the two bank accounts be equal. Since f(x) = 2x and g(x) = 4x + 12, equating them 2x = 4x +12 Solving for x = -6 Meaning there is no way that the two account be equal and there is no way that f(x) will be greater than g(x)
