Pluto was determined as a planet but was officially named a dwarf planet in 2006.

This is due to the fact that all the outer planets were gas giants, while as pluto was not. Outer planets HAVE to be gas giants, and inner planets HAVE to be rocky planets, none can mix with the other, so they changed it >.>
