Shadow:

Do you know the formula for inscribed angles?

hardlyhuman:

no

hardlyhuman:

Okay

Shadow:

\[Angle = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }Arc\] My bad this is the formula B is an inscribed angle, lets solve for its arc \[116 = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }ADC\] \[232 = ADC\] Arc ADC = 232

Shadow:

A circle is made up of 360 degrees 360 - 232 = 128 That means arc ABC = 128 degrees \[Angle = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } Arc\] \[x = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }128\] \[x = 64\]

Shadow:

Angle A, the angle we are trying to solve for, is equal to 2x - 40. \[A = 2x - 40\] \[A = 2(64) - 40\] \[A = 128 - 40\] \[A = 88 \]

hardlyhuman:

Thanks so much :)

Shadow:
