PLS HELP!!! Look at the figure. Which step should be taken next to construct a line through point R that is perpendicular to ST? https://dlap.gradpoint.com/Resz/~yUA6AAAAAAQN9Qt9CzEhxA.dK3qt_8JvH8c0Pm1QAYLkD/7234256,F04/Assets/questions/quiz/geometry/geoperp/geoperp-e-13.png

What are your answer choices?

eviant:

Place the compass on point T. Without changing the setting from the previous step, draw a small arc through point R. Place the compass on point T. Without changing the setting from the previous step, draw a small arc above ST. Place the compass on point T. Without changing the setting from the previous step, draw another small arc below the large arc. Place the compass on point S. Without changing the setting from the previous step, draw a small arc through point R.

Tranquility:

Which answer do you think it is?

eviant:

the first one?

Tranquility:

You're correct that now we have to place the compass on point T, but keep in mind we want to make another arc like we have so we can get a point to draw a line through point R that would be perpendicular to the original line.

eviant:

so, which one is it then?

Tranquility:

perppic21A.jpg Do you see how they make the x with two arcs? So which answer choice do you think says it makes that other arc to make the x which gives us a point and if we drew a line through that point it would hit R and that new line would be perpendicular to ST
