Overall, I think school shootings are a tragedy, and something ought to be done about the plethora of gun violence in America. It happens in schools, yet that rate is decreasing. What we should be looking is in places like Chicago where the gun laws are the strictest they can be, yet the gun violence is through the roof. Proper legislation and enforcement of the law is needed in order reduce the gun violence in America.

[It is worth noting that many institutions and news outlets disagree on the definition of the term "mass shooting," especially when it comes to schools. Even if you use the broadest of terms though, it makes up a small portion of gun deaths in America. It's highly politicized by Democrats at the moment due to 2018 mid term elections coming up for Congress, and its a hot issue for Republicans.]

The main issue though, is the hands that the gun goes into. The gun doesn't kill the students, the person pulling the trigger does. If guns don't end up in that persons hands, then violence can be averted.

Many don't know this but the background check system, NICS, is actually underfunded and experiencing delay queues.

Please be mindful when you read these. As I said earlier, this is a highly politicized issue. That means there are lobbyists and propagandists on both sides trying to influence Americans, readers, and thus, voters. Dailywire tends to lean right, whilst Vox leans hard left. I haven't read much of the other outlets to know for sure, but I am sure you can sniff it out.

This is my opinion and is not to offend you but there is gun violence in this country but since they are arming teachers in schools it should be a thing the only other gun violence is in areas where gangs inhabit and you can't really take their guns since most of them are stolen or illegal and I live in boca raton florida and if you are going to protest its childish because cnn's main source of money is from this and they are making a lot of bad decisions profiting from this horrible event
