@Sarah10 Reader inserts are vary popular nowadays, they can be found in both fanfic and fanart. A reader insert is when someone puts the reader, you, into the story its putting the person reading the story into the actual story instead of a written character into it. Reader inserts are really fun to read and the art is pretty cool too. 
Reader inserts are often commented on with things like " That's not a really story." or " that's not real art" or things like " you where just to lazy to write a new character in, to lazy to make your own character."
Take this from someone who writes reader inserts, its really hard to make work when your constantly getting back lash from just writing one story. I still write reader inserts because they do bring happiness to some people.
