8<2b or 2b+15<5 Lets start with 8<2b Start with switching the sides like this 2b>8 (you also flip the symbol) Now divide both by 2 2b/2>8/2= (2b/2 will get crossed out and 8/2 is 4) b>4 Now this one: 2b+15<5 Subtract 15 from both sides Since the opposite of addition is subtraction. 2b+15-15<5-15 Now solve: 2b<-10 now divide both sides by 2 2b/2<-10/2 =b<-5 Answer: b>4 or b<-5 A.
