gotta just memorize this but endo = absorbs energy = energy is higher in the products, so this reaction is endothermic

So for the sentences i would just write, "The reaction is exothermic because it absorbs energy"

that's a good start, better to also mention that the energy is higher in the products than reactants (that's how we know it absorbs energy)
