What type of relationship is there between electrical force and the distance?

electric force between two objects is proportional to the inverse square of the distance between the two objects. The electric force between two electrons is the same as the electric force between two protons when they are placed as the same distance.

So what does that mean in terms of this problem?

well it says that it woul be the same distance so in the problem it says increase by 2 which would mean the answer is c?

Distance is r^2 \[r^2 = r^2 \] \[(2r)^2 = 4r^2\] In actuality, the force would be decreased by a factor of 4.

It's more properly noted as being an inverse square relationship.
