b is the length of the chord from the vertex of the angle, to the point where the chord touches the circle.

c is the length of the chord from the vertex to the first point on the circle, then from that first point to the second point on the circle.

So we would do 52 + 4 for c

c = 56

b = 4

a = ?

Our Formula:

$$b \times c = a^2$$

$$4 \times 56 = a^2$$

$$224 = a^2$$

$$\sqrt 224 = a$$
