GlockParrot69:

It literally gave u the answer in the ‘’hints’’ section. Uhggg

charlottet123:

In the problem, c is the constant of the equation. c = -2 which is a negative value. Logically speaking, and after reading those 3 hints, this would mean the graph opens down

SmokeyBrown:

So I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with Charlotte this time. The term we should be concerned with is 'a', not 'c', because 'c' determines the direction of the function. Taking the equation [y = 6x^2 - 2] in the format y = ax^2 + bx +c, a is 6, b is 0, and c is (-)2. Since 'a' in this case is positive 6, we should expect the graph of this equation to open...?

SmokeyBrown:

I more or less broke down hints 1 and 2 in my above post. Another detail that might be easy to overlook is in hint 3. In short, the equation has a 'minimum', as opposed to a 'maximum'. So, what shape would we expect in order for the graph to have a minimum value but no maximum value?

lolokrat:

@Smokeybrown so judging on that, what's your top answer picks?

GlockParrot69:

The parabola opens up...since the leading coefficient is positive....
