I'm guessing you've been looking at some plays in class. Maybe some Shakespeare?  Shaw? I wouldn't worry too much about style or necessarily forcing the scene to fit a theme. Draw from your own experiences, is about the best advice I can give. Art imitates life, after all.
I'm sure you can remember times you or a friend had to stick up for someone you cared for, or maybe a conflict you were involved in or heard about that seemed to go on far longer than expected?
