Vocaloid:

well judging by what we did earlier a step-up transformer has ~fewer~ loops in the primary coil than the secondary

zarkam21:

okay so I added fewer, everything else is correct right>

Vocaloid:

yes

Describe how to use right-hand rules to relate the directions of magnetic fields, currents, moving charges, and forces

Vocaloid:

|dw:1523597158405:dw|

Vocaloid:

you just need to explain how to orient one's right hand according to this diagram and what properties (charge, magnetic field, force, etc.) correspond to which part of the hand

Vocaloid:

there's also one more|dw:1523597228913:dw|

zarkam21:

so the thumb would direct up which would be force. The pointer finger would direct straight which would be current and the middle finger would direct a little forwarf which would be magnetic field

Vocaloid:

be careful force isn't always up, current isn't always straight out, etc. to use the RHR you have to align your hand/fingers in the appropriate direction as indicated by the problem you are solving

Vocaloid:

for example, if the problem states the current is moving up then you have to point your finger up, then align your thumb and middle finger at 90 degree angles, and the direction those two fingers point in give you your force and magnetic field respectively
