I'm terrible at math, but theres this website called MathWay.com where you can type both of these in and itll graph it for you, and you can easily tell the difference.

A negative is applied to the original equation of \({x^{2}}\) to make \({-x^{2}}\) this means a reflection over the x-axis. Now take notice that we have `-3` outside of \(\bf{-x^{2}}\) this means vertical translation. Since it is `-3` this means a shift downwards of 3 units. I would suggest desmos.com for graphing problems >.>
