I'm actually not sure whether to count the blue antinodes AND the red ones or just one :S

alright I did a bit of research, since the wave can only occupy either the blue position or the red position (not simultaneously) you would only count the nodes on one side, so you would see which one has four "peaks" on the blue or red path (not both)

in general polarization only changes the plane in which the wave travels there are two types of interference (constructive and destructive) one makes the amplitude bigger and one makes it smaller making interference the better choice

so polarization is the process of taking a wave and reducing it to one plane, that's why ~polarized~ sunglasses reduce glare so polarized is the better answer
