the (x+2)^2 means it's shifted to the left 2 units the -1 part shifts it down 1 unit so your new parabola should be the exact same shape (yours is a bit too compressed) as the original, just shifted left 2 down 1

right, you've only shifted it down, it also needs to be shifted 2 units to the right, and the blue parabola and the grey-ish one need to be the exact same shape
