From my observation, the algebra looks correct, it's just that the format is a bit off. When doing mathematical induction there are always three distinct steps that you must show. 1. Show that P(1) is true. 2. Assume P(k) is true 3. Show \(P(k) \rightarrow P(k + 1)\) These are sort of the the "announcements" that should precede each step. Otherwise, everything looks right to me.

And then in the end you want to state that \(P(n)\) is true rather than "Proved".
