LivRaine:

Which of the following best compares conifers and anthophytes?

SmokeyBrown:

Hi and welcome to QuestionCove! I'm not sure of the context to this question, but I do know that conifers produce cone-shaped structures to reproduce--think like pinecones. Anthophytes are just any plant with flowers.

gabethebabe:

Anthophytes have seeds that are encased in fruits, while conifers have naked seeds that are found on cones. This contrast just highlights the differences betweeen gymosperms and angiosperms. Obviously the seeds with a layer of fruit as protection will be safer in unfavorable situations like a flood or a tornado; the naked seeds on the other hand will most likely be destroyed or eaten.
