simplymariex:

Perform the requested operation or operations. f(x) = x-8/7 ; g(x) = 7x + 8, find g(f(x)). Select one: a. g(f(x)) = x + 16 b. g(f(x)) = 7x + 48 c. g(f(x)) = x - 8/7 d. g(f(x)) = x Here's a link to see it better: https://gyazo.com/efdfa4a4ac36c0e2df57aae6fe62a2d1

jhonyy9:

do you know what mean g(f(x)) ?

jhonyy9:

for example given : f(y) = y+3 and g(y) = 3y so g(f(y)) = g((y+3) = 3(y+3) = 3y+9 do you understand it now ?

jhonyy9:

g(x) = 7x +8 yes ? so g(f(x)) mean that in equation of g in place of x you need substitute the f(x) ok,?

jhonyy9:

f(x)= (x-8)/7 or f(x) = x - (8/7) ?

jhonyy9:

so g(f(x)) = 7*f(x) +8 ok ? how i ve wrote above in place of x inside equation of g you just substitute the equation of f(x) do oyu understand it now ?

Hero:

@simplymariex are you still here?

simplymariex:

@Hero Yes. I am trying to figure out what Jhonny is saying but I'm confused.

simplymariex:

I don't understand this problem at all. :/

Hero:

Would you mind closing this re-posting this same question again? I'll help you this time.

simplymariex:

@Hero Done :-)
