Gonna need help with some math qyestions. will post 3 per thread: 1.http://prntscr.com/jfhk72 2.http://prntscr.com/jfhkds 3.http://prntscr.com/jfhkow

dude:

Do you have ideas on which they might be?

8bithelix:

i think the first question is bell shaped

dude:

No, look at how one side goes up higher than the other

8bithelix:

ah ok, looking at the definitions for each word the only one that makes sense is that it is skewed right

dude:

Correct :P

8bithelix:

whoops dc'd sorry

8bithelix:

ok next question

dude:

We need to the the Maximum, Minimum, Median, Q1 and Q3

bm717:

Which one do you need help with, @8bithelix

8bithelix:

2 and 3

8bithelix:

we already did 1

bm717:

Do you have a few minutes to watch a video? It explains very well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoVf1jLxgj4 Once you watch it and get the hang of it, we could walk through the problem together.

8bithelix:

ok

8bithelix:

done watching the video

bm717:

Alright (: How do you think you should start this problem?

8bithelix:

we gotta order the numbers from least to greatest

8bithelix:

so that being said let me get my papers and start ordering

bm717:

Haha, yes

8bithelix:

back

bm717:

What do you have so far?

8bithelix:

@bm717 so sorry im late but i got

8bithelix:

after sorting the numbers 135 is the first middle number

bm717:

Good. Tell me what you have now.

8bithelix:

next for the lower half i have numbers of 112 116 134 and 134

8bithelix:

going to sort them out

8bithelix:

as well as for the higher range of numbers, 141 149 156 and 156

8bithelix:

then i get 125 for the next number (lower side)

8bithelix:

and 152.5 for the higher side

8bithelix:

and finally the lower and upper numbers are respectively 112 and 156

8bithelix:

final 5 numbers should be 135 125 152.5 112 and 156

bm717:

Correct, I believe.

8bithelix:

and then i just draw a crappy box and wisker plot around them numbers and im good lmaoo

bm717:

LMAOOO YEA.

8bithelix:

now for question 3

8bithelix:

@Vocaloid @bm717

Vocaloid:

you need to look at each data point and see which bin it belongs to for example, "81" would fall under the "81-100" so make a tick mark under the 81-100 bin, then repeat for all the data points, then draw the bars according to the number of data points within each bin

8bithelix:

ok

8bithelix:

a tick mark is lik|dw:1525827447144:dw|

8bithelix:

*like

Vocaloid:

|dw:1525827518003:dw|

Vocaloid:

just a little mark or something to indicate that there's a data point there [it's not absolutely necessary, you could also keep track of the data values on a separate piece of paper]

8bithelix:

okie
