1. Which statement is true about elements? They are finite in number. They are infinite in number. They combine to form atoms. They combine to form electrons. 2. Which family in the periodic table has metals that are usually harder than other metals? Alkali metals Alkaline earth metals Lanthanide series Transition metals

justasoftie:

Okie dokie. What do you think the answers would be?

cookiemonster:

hmmm the first one not sure and the second one im thinking b

@JustSaiyan

cookiemonster:

@Angle please help :)

Angle:

All known elements are listed on the periodic table of elements. Elements are all the same atoms. Those atoms that are identical = element. Electron is a part of an atom. Atoms are made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons.

cookiemonster:

so #1 is D?

cookiemonster:

@Angle

Angle:

electron + proton + neutron = atom atom + atom + atom = element D says element + element = electron, which is not true

cookiemonster:

oh ok, so C

Angle:

I just said: atom + atom + atom = element C says element + element + element = atom, which is still not true

Angle:

I said: "All known elements are listed on the periodic table of elements." If there are infinitely many elements, would you be able to list all of them? So B is not true either

cookiemonster:

ohhh omg that makes sense its A! @Angle

Angle:

there you go

cookiemonster:

Which family in the periodic table has metals that are usually harder than other metals? Alkali metals Alkaline earth metals Lanthanide series Transition metals B?

Angle:

I'm not sure on this one but I'm pretty sure that Metals like Gold and stuff are considered Transition metals
