https://screenshotscdn.firefoxusercontent.com/images/04adaf2f-996b-42b8-af4c-9e13200eb7b9.png The map above shows the location of trees in a yard. Where is the oak tree located? * (2, 7) (7, 2) (3, 8) (8, 3)

dfghjkjhgfdg:

catfish.

121314gifted:

I'm not a cf

dfghjkjhgfdg:

on pa yes you are :D

121314gifted:

I'm not

121314gifted:

Shadow:

Do you know how to read a graph?

121314gifted:

Not good...I always get it wrong....This is a retake of my test that I didint pass

Shadow:

(x,y) The horizontal line, the one that goes from left to right, is the x axis. Look for the oak tree. What x point is it above?

121314gifted:

Oh, I think I got it...(8,3)?

Shadow:

I am afraid not. That would be the willow tree.

Shadow:

Remember, coordinates are (x,y) First look for the x coordinate, then the y coordinate

Shadow:

In this case, the oak tree is three units to the right, then eight units up, from the origin.

Shadow:

So +3 ->, +8 ^

121314gifted:

So, just like the other way around?

Shadow:

(3,8)

Shadow:

Yes. Simply start with the x axis since that's the first coordinate, then the y axis for the y coordinate.

121314gifted:

Oh, thanks!

121314gifted:

I may be able to get this now. You should become a Math teacher

Shadow:

I'm glad. And thank you.

121314gifted:

Your very welcome
