Imagine what life would be like without the protections of the Bill of Rights. What could happen if each of these rights was not guaranteed? The first one is done for you. Fill in the blanks, and then add some "what-ifs" of your own.
Already did one just dont understand the other two
@Shadow
And this is what I put for which is the best to me
Capitalize Muslim, and you can choose to site the free exercise clause, which is what you're referring to.
"The Free Exercise Clause reserves the right of American citizens to accept any religious belief and engage in religious rituals."

Okay for the amendment part, I dont understand the third one
could you explain that to me
5th Amendment deals with self incrimination (being a witness against yourself), a grand jury in the case of being prosecuted for an infamous crime, and double jeopardy (being tried for the same crime, twice).
Lol forgot the most important part: "nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."
Basically, government can't take stuff away without due process. And the last part is eminent domain. Say a state wants to build a highway and your house is in the way. They take it and give you 'just' compensation, which is usually market value.
so my answer would be without this amendment, the government could throw me out of my house at any time without my consent because they would have the right to?
Yeah they can't kill you, take your house, or your freedom of speech, without due process.
That's a nice amendment to have, right?
Haha, is it?
Due process - "fair treatment through the normal judicial system, especially as a citizen's entitlement."
I could go into the different types of due process, but you get the idea :P
Yup because you are a genius
Right to trial by jury (Sixth Amendment
and then this is the last
This is an important one too.
Habeas corpus - Latin for 'show the body.' Basically the police can't grab you in the middle of the night and throw you in jail. They have to tell you why.
Also the right to have a speedy and just trial. The jury must be impartial, and the accused has the right to confront any who are witnesses against him, to be able to get witnesses of his own, and also the right to an attorney.
okay last one I promise :p
Search and arrest (Fourth Amendment)
this is simple if this amendment wasn't in place the police could just arrest me without searching right?
ah...no
oh i know
This says that people are safe in their homes oro wherever they are from searches
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." Basically, need a search warrant.
lol wanted to say it before you :p
okay
But there is a doctrine adopted by the Supreme Court called clear and present danger. Essentially, if a police officer walks by my house and sees me getting murdered, he doesn't have to go run and get a warrant to go into my house and save my life.
Well yeah
That would be an emergency situation and something as vital as saving someone's life
'Hang in there buddy, gotta go to the court house'
Ha Ha
But yeah, something along the lines of...a police officer cant just run around town searching houses for whatever reason.
You are good,man.
