hm, maybe I can explain it a little better first and then don't really work because these indicate that the two sentences are related chronologically (by time) "for that reason" indicates that sentence 1 is the cause of sentence 2 which is not really the case here either "likewise" (C) is the best option that indicates that they are related but not necessarily causal or chronological so C is the best choice here
