well for the first column the fraction of the original isotope just gets cut in half each time, so start with 1, keep dividing in half until you reach the bottom of the table for the second column, original isotope fraction + daughter isotope fraction = 1 so 1 - the first column value gives the second column value third column is simply the ratio between column 1 and column 2, make sure to eliminate like fractions fourth column: see how long the first half life is, then each consecutive value just adds on one half life let me know if you are getting stuck or want to check your solution

This is what I have so far :/

Vocaloid:

check the last row what's 1/4 divided by 2?

zarkam21:

1/8

Vocaloid:

good so the first column last value needs to be 1/8 not 1/6 for the second column, remember that if something is divided into fractions, all the fractions must add up to 1 so the second column + first column must add up to 1

zarkam21:

so they should all be 1:0

Vocaloid:

no the ratios aren't all 1:0

Vocaloid:

like, see in the third column how 1/4 and 1 are the first two column values? 1 + 1/4 does not equal 1 the sum needs to be 1 so you will need to change the second column value accordingly

Like this

Vocaloid:

good but 1/4: 3/4 is better written as 1:3 since the denominators are equal

Vocaloid:

then repeat with row 4

I would re-write that 1 ratio as 1:1 Also the number of days doesn't decrease, since more and more half lives are being added, the time passed increases by 20 days each time

Vocaloid:

Also my wifi is dead gtg
